Complaints and resolution · QUICK REFERENCE
Checking an escalation body's remit
Before submitting a case to an outside body, read what it says it can consider. Record the relevant territory, subject matter and any stated preliminary steps. An organisation's official name or logo does not mean every complaint falls within its remit.
A practical checklist
- Find the body's own eligibility information.
- Check whether the named operator or issue is covered.
- Keep a note of any unresolved eligibility question.
Putting it in context
A regulator, dispute resolver and support organisation can have different functions. Choose the research question accordingly rather than treating them as interchangeable complaint inboxes.
Keep in mind
This guide does not establish that any body can accept your particular case.
