Editorial independence and financial links
Readers should be able to understand how commercial relationships affect a publication. This edition contains no affiliate links, paid rankings or referral codes. If that model changes, the relevant disclosures and editorial practices would need to change with it.
A practical checklist
- Check the current disclosure page.
- Distinguish editorial order from paid placement.
- Inspect the evidence behind each claim.
Putting it in context
An alphabetical directory makes its ordering easy to explain. It should continue to state that ordering clearly rather than inviting readers to infer a league table.
Keep in mind
A lack of affiliate links does not by itself guarantee factual accuracy.
