Private keys and recovery phrases
A wallet recovery phrase or private key is sensitive access information. Do not disclose it to someone offering support, verification or recovery. Store it according to the wallet provider's security guidance and keep it out of public complaint attachments.
A practical checklist
- Review screenshots for exposed secrets.
- Reject requests to paste a recovery phrase into chat.
- Use the genuine provider's security resources.
Putting it in context
A person can claim that a phrase is needed only for verification. That explanation does not reduce the sensitivity of the information or make disclosure safe.
Keep in mind
This page provides protective guidance and does not describe how to transfer or gamble with assets.
