Policy changes and notice records
When a policy changes, compare the earlier and later versions and document how the change was communicated. Keep the substantive change separate from cosmetic edits. A clear comparison helps identify which issue needs an answer without assuming every updated timestamp represents a new rule.
A practical checklist
- Preserve both available versions.
- Highlight the clause that changed.
- Keep any notification with its date.
Putting it in context
A revised page heading may leave the operative wording unchanged. Conversely, a single changed exception can matter more than a full redesign of the page.
Keep in mind
The effect of a policy change depends on facts and applicable rules not established by a text comparison alone.
